How To Invest Now To Help Your Future

Do you struggle to spend money on yourself?

I love to shower my family, friends, and team with fun surprises. Everything from unique gifts, programs, and trips to exciting places. In fact, I just hosted a team retreat near our new home in

Someone, please remind us to take a decent group picture next time!

Savannah, GA! We worked hard, explored Savannah, and ate delicious food. I do it to let them know how much I appreciate them.

However, when it comes to investing in myself, I’m not always quick to spend a buck. That was until last November when I knew change needed to happen.

Enough Is Enough

Have you ever reached a breaking point? Last year, I decided that I was tired of being overweight and feeling exhausted all of the time. Not the “Eh, I wish life were a little different.” but rather the big ole Dave Ramsey version of “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired!”.  I knew something had to change but it wouldn’t change until I decided to invest in myself.

I invested time and money in blood tests, consultations and left my Doctor’s office with a plan of action. It wasn’t enough that I spent the money for this lifestyle change, I had to put in the work. I was up early, I drank my appropriate amount of water and stuck to a strict eating plan. Was it easy? No. The first few days were brutal, especially while traveling, but I knew that it was going to be worth every meal I didn’t over indulge in.

Why Not Do It Alone

In the wise words of Taylor Swift, “Haters gonna hate”.

Everyone loves to throw their opinion around (been on social media lately?!) and while no one was directly unsupportive of my decision to work with a specific doctor, not everyone understood my reasoning. Some were all too eager to share their diet tips and offer an endless supply of advice and personal stories of weight loss, each one at a cheaper price tag than the other.

Every piece of advice was appreciated but I knew in my heart that choosing to look at this as an investment in myself as opposed to an expense was exactly the perspective I needed to have.

You see, I had built a relationship with the doctor that monitored my new healthy lifestyle. Over the years, I have gotten to know her and there was a level of trust. I knew that she wouldn’t steer me in the wrong direction and was only looking out for my best interest. The outside voices were telling me that I should try this thing or that product and it would surely be more effective and save me a lot of money.

Because of the trust I’d built with this physician, I knew that any money I would save would, in the end, cost me more in the long run. I needed her encouragement, her knowledge, and her accountability. No one else’s.

Getting Results Drives You

I spent years trying fad diets, purchasing shakes that were never consumed and used a treadmill for a clothing rack. It wasn’t until I found what worked for me that I finally began to see results and that feels FREAKING AMAZING! Everything else was a band aid, I’d found a solution.

I have more energy, my mood has improved and I feel like a better human being. You’re welcome, family!

Why?

Because I decided to invest in myself.

The same rule applies to your business.

Invest In Your Business

I’ve talked with countless entrepreneurs who are looking for a solution to the pain points in their business. Entrepreneurs who are drowning under the pressure of their business and letting opportunities slip through the cracks.

My solution? Invest in your business.

Weight loss may not be your goal. Perhaps, it’s more time with your family, traveling or creating new products. Regardless of your goal, we all have the same desire… to stop cracking under the weight (pardon the pun!) of business and start enjoying it again?

Decide now that you are going to invest in yourself. Invest in your business.

I’ve built a business of well over 80 Virtual Assistants, each one with a special skill set designed to help entrepreneurs like us. Visionaries with too many ideas and not enough hours in the day.

Investing in one of the 80+ VAs on my team shouldn’t be looked at as an expense but rather as an investment in your future… and quite frankly, your present.

One of my favorite things in the world is helping entrepreneurs succeed and I believe that investing in a Virtual Assistant is the catalyst to success.
